3CX Voicemail recording


You can record a voicemail message either directly on the phone using the voicemail pin sent in the welcome email (for the extension), or directly from the web client once logged in as the extension.


Web Client Recording
For recording on the web client, go to the three ellipses on the left side (middle, underneath Contacts), select Settings > Greetings here you can either play existing voicemail greetings or record additional messages.

To record a message select Record, you wll be prompted to give the message a name, then a call to your extension, follow the instructions and record your message.
Once recorded select the message for the drop-down menu for the appropriate recorded message, Default is your standard voicemail message, once the message is selected, you can playback or download the message in a .wav format.

Once selected from the dropdown menu, the message will automatically be selected, no need to save, and this can be changed back at any time, or a new message recorded.

Phone Recording
To record a message on a physical phone, select the voicemail key on the phone or the voicemail symbol or the numbers 6-6-6, you will be prompted to enter your voicemail code, then follow the selections to record the message (the options should be 9 then 8 to record a message), you can rerecord the message as required through the option menu's, see below

A voice menu system will ask you to enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN) followed by "#". The initial options you are presented with, are the following:
  • Dial * to play your messages.
  • Dial “9” to go to options.
  • Dial pound “#” to exit.
When you dial “9” for options, the following options will be announced by the voicemail system. Dial the respective numbers to change and update these features:
  • Dialing “1” allows you to change your profile status.
  • Dialing “3” allows you to dial a number.
  • Dialing “4” allows you to delete all read messages.
  • Dialing “5” allows you to change your self-identification message.
  • Dialing “6” allows you to play mailbox information.
  • Dialing “7” allows you to change your voicemail PIN number.
  • Dialing “8” allows you to change your greeting message.
  • Dialing “9” allows you to restart the voice menu prompts.

If you require the welcome email with the voicemail pin please confirm the extension you require changes to and we can resend the wlelcome mesage out (if the email has changed please confirm it as well).
